About Brigid Reilly

I'm a clinical hypnotherapist, animal intuitive therapist, past-life regression therapist and healer. I have increasingly worked therapeutically with animals throughout the UK and occasionally internationally over the last 12 years, and specialise particularly in equine trauma, anxiety and performance.

I'm fully-insured to work as a therapist and healer with both humans and animals and, as a professional member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, conform to its strict code of ethics.

Therapy

I completed the practitioners' diploma in clinical hypnotherapy with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and have held practices in Wareham, Seaton and Devizes.

I've taken further training in EMDR (trauma processing), inner-child work, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), muscle testing (Kinesiology), shamanic soul-retrieval, spirit releasement and cancer & palliative care.

I'm also an experienced past-life regression therapist and over the years have trained with psychologist, hypnotherapist & trauma/PTSD expert Christa Mackinnon; Dutch regressionist Hans TenDam, and Jungian analyist and past-life therapist Roger Woolger.

I have adapted and used psychotherapeutic, regression and healing techniques very successfully with animals. Horses are especially responsive to it, most significantly where anxiety or trauma is an issue.

I'm currently training in the Bowen Technique and am really keen to add to this by training in Canine and Equine Bowen in stages over the next few years.

Communication & Healing

Since first being aware of my spirit guides at the age of about 6 or 7, my earliest memory of communicating with animals was when I was 7, and of directing healing energy when I was about 11-12.

More experiences followed over the years with family pets, garden birds, horses and wild animals. But it wasn't until 1995 when, inspired by pioneering animal communicator Penelope Smith and healers Jack Angelo and Barbara Brennan, that I began to develop my incipient abilities in earnest.

Since then, I've trained in psychic development, mediumship, channelling and spirit releasement and taken the Reiki Master attunement. I've also benefited from the teachings of many wonderful communicators, through their books or in person, including Carol Gurney, Julie Dicker, Marta Williams, Margrit Coates and Holly Davis.

I've been privileged to work with a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, ponies, donkeys, wild and domestic birds, rabbits, gerbils, deer, cows and an iguana. By combining my experience as a therapist with healing and communication, it's been possible to not only connect with many of these animals, but to help them experience healing at a much deeper level.

What does 'D.Hyp' and 'MBSCH' mean?

'D.Hyp'
means 'Diploma in Hypnotherapy'. I trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, which is at the forefront of clinical hypnotherapy in the UK and internationally and which is recognised and approved by the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I am highly ethical in the way I work and fully-insured to work with humans and animals.

'MBSCH'means 'Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis'. The BSCH is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy. To be designated a full member of the BSCH and hold the title MBSCH requires the completion of both the Clinical Diploma and Practitioner Training in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Practitioners must conform to a strict ethical code of conduct and carry full professional indemnity insurance. If you want to receive a copy of the BSCH Code of Conduct, please contact me or visit http://www.bsch.org.uk/code_of_conduct.htm.
